I love caesar flavors. The salty combination of anchovies, dijon and worcestershire sauce in a rich, creamy dressing with parmesan, garlic and black pepper makes me really happy. I have fabulous recipes for a creamy caesar chicken bake, chicken caesar wraps, several caesar salads and my absolutely incredible creamy caesar dressing on this blog, but this caesar chicken pizza could be headed straight to the top of that list.
Although this chicken caesar pizza may look fancy, it is actually quite simple to make! I use WeWalka’s bistro style thin and crispy pizza dough and make a quick parmesan garlic white sauce. If you have leftover chicken or grab a rotisserie chicken from your grocery store, this pizza will be ready to toss in the oven in about 10 minutes.
Ready to whip up a fabulous caesar chicken pizza? Then, let’s get started…
Begin by making the parmesan garlic white sauce. Its super simple and incredibly delicious.
Simply melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in 1 tablespoon of all purpose flour and cook for 30 seconds, while whisking continuously.
Next, whisk in 2/3 cup of whole milk and add 2 pasted garlic cloves and a pinch of salt and black pepper. Cook this mixture for about 60 seconds, continuing to whisk until it begins to thicken a bit.
Last, but not least, add 1/3 cup of grated parmesan and remove the sauce from the heat. Whisk until the parmesan is fully incorporated and let the sauce cool while you gather the remaining ingredients…
In addition to that fabulous parmesan garlic white sauce, you will need a WeWalka 7.8 ounce thin and crisp crust (or your favorite pizza dough), 2 cups of shredded chicken, 4 ounces of finely shredded mozzarella, 4 ounces of finely shredded parmesan and 2 cups of fresh arugula.
Start by placing the pizza dough onto a pizza pan or a wide flat baking sheet.
Spread about 1/2-2/3 cup of your parmesan garlic white sauce over the pizza dough leaving a 1/2 inch boarder around the outer edge.
Transfer the remaining white sauce into a small dish and set it aside for now (this will be the best dipping sauce ever… promise.)
Sprinkle 4 ounces of finely shredded mozzarella over the white sauce.
Add 2 cups of shredded chicken over the mozzarella and then add 4 ounces of finely shredded parmesan over the chicken…
This pizza is already gorgeous and it hasn’t even been baked to golden brown perfection yet… but, that is next. Bake this pizza in a 425 degree oven for 14-16 minutes and then transfer it onto a heat proof surface.
Now, top this beautiful pie with fresh peppery arugula and a little more shredded parmesan…
Slice it into wedges and prepare yourself…
This pizza…. ok, so I will start at the crust. WeWalka’s bistro crust in thin, crispy and buttery all on its own. No need to brush it will anything extra. Then that parmesan garlic white sauce is amazing. Its like some cream caesar dressing had a love child with a creamy white pasta sauce… sheer perfection.
The mozzarella adds a classic pizza flavor profile and the combination of shredded chicken and salty parmesan reminds me so much of everything I love about a chicken caesar salad. The arugula on top adds a peppery, fresh crunch that just brings everything together in a beautiful, delicious way.
Buon appetito! You are going to love this pizza.
