Chai spices are warm and welcoming. Typically used in teas and lattes, this spice mixture adds great depth of flavor that is appreciate by many.
Although chai is usually used to flavor treats that we would drink, it is also delicious used in baked goods.
Let’s get this classic started…
This spice mixture is quite simple to make and requires spices often already found in our pantry. It is a little reminiscent of pumpkin spice, just tweaked a bit.
You will need 1 teaspoon of cardamom, all spice, nutmeg and cloves and then 2 teaspoons of ground ginger and cinnamon.
Combine.
You now have chai spice! Hurray!
Use chai spices in tea, coffee, add it to hot chocolate, cookie dough or cake batter! I love this combination and if you aren’t already a fan… you will be soon.
Enjoy!
