Fajita seasoning is a super versatile combination of spices that can be used on everything from burgers and steaks to chicken wings, bbq ribs and yes… fajitas. This combination of chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic, cayenne and onion powder is a well balanced seasoning mixture that brings great flavors to whatever is seasoned with it.
I also add a bit of tajin seasoning to my fajita mix. If you are unfamiliar with tajin, it is a zesty chili lime spice mixture that you can find at most grocery stores in the Latin food section. It adds a great bright flavor to this seasoning that I love!
Let’s get started…
Like most seasoning combinations, this is super simple to make. Simply combine 2 teaspoons of cumin, 2 teaspoons of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of tajin seasoning and 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a small dish.
If you can’t find tajin seasoning, add a squeeze of lime juice to whatever you are using this seasoning on. The acidity that lime brings to a dish is really underrated, so don’t forget to add it!
This spice combination is fabulous! Sprinkle a generous amount on steaks you are about to grill, over vegetables you are roasting or fish you are pan searing. It is a great seasoning mixture to keep in your pantry. Just mix it up, store it in an airtight container and use it on… everything!
