This beautiful, vibrantly colored smoothie bowl is packed with vitamins, nutrients, fiber and antioxidants along with layers of sweet, tart and tangy flavors that will get your day started in the right way.
Let’s get started…
All you need to blend up two breakfast sized (or one really big) smoothie bowls is 8 ounces of frozen blackberries, 6 ounces of fresh raspberries, 1 cup of fresh pomegranate arils, 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt and some pomegranate juice.
I use full fat vanilla Greek yogurt, because its something that I always have on hand, but any greek yogurt will do fine. You can usually find pomegranate arils (pomegranate seeds) near the pomegranate juice in your local grocery store. If you have trouble finding them, check out Pom Wonderful’s website.
Combine the blackberries, raspberries, pomegranate arils and greek yogurt in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Add a splash of pomegranate juice to thin the smoothies texture, if needed. I usually don’t add the juice, but you may want to.
I prefer my smoothie to be really thick and ice cream like in texture, so I usually blend this up, pour it into bowls and set them in the freezer while I get ready for the day and make my cup of coffee, just to give them a chance to firm up even more, but this is all up to your preference.
You can top your smoothie bowl with anything that makes you happy, but I usually add a little dollop of Greek yogurt, some granola and a little more fresh fruit or pomegranate arils.
This smoothie bowl is naturally sweet with a great tangy, tart flavors that will wake you up and get your day started in a delicious, nutritious way.
