Mango salsa is a guaranteed way to add a fresh, fruity pop of spice to everything from tacos to fish and rice bowls to barbecued chicken. With just a few simple ingredients and a good sharp knife, you can whip this tropical salsa up in minutes and let it add a little magic to your next meal.
Let’s get started…
The most important element in this salsa a nice ripe mango. We need about a cup of diced flesh and this usually takes 1 large mango or 2 smaller ones.
In addition to the mango, you’ll need to finely dice 2 tablespoons of jalapeño, a tablespoon of red onion, a tablespoon of fresh cilantro and about 2 teaspoons of fresh lime juice and a pinch of salt and black pepper.
Combine everything in a bowl, mix until all of the ingredients are evenly distributed and then do a quick taste test to see if you need any more salt. Salt helps to elevate the flavors, so if your salsa looks vibrant, but tastes a little bland then add anther pinch of salt.
This salsa adds such a cheerfully bright and tangy twist to so many dishes and once you start adding it to your tacos, nachos and rice bowls, you will most likely start making it more and more often.
