Creamy Chai Oats

A creamy, chai inspired twist on a traditional bowl of oats that will make you excited to wake up tomorrow morning.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of old fashioned oats
  • 3 1/2 cups of unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 2-3 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon of all spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon of cardamom
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • granola (garnish)
  • almond milk (garnish)

Instructions

  • Combine 3 1/2 cups of almond milk and 1/2 cup of heavy cream in a medium saucepan and bring to a low simmer over medium high heatĀ 
  • Add 2 cups of old fashioned oats, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger, 1/4 teaspoon of all spice, 1/4 teaspoon of cloves, 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1/8 teaspoon of cardamom, a pinch of black pepper and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and whisk until completely combinedĀ 
  • Simmer for about 6 minutes or as instructed by the manufacturers instructions.
  • Garnish with granola and a splash of almond milk
