Combine 1 1/2 cups of warm water (100-110 degrees) with 1/8 cup of sugar and 1 packet of active dry yeast. Set aside for 5-10 minutes or until foamy
In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all purpose flour with 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Add bloomed yeast and mix to combine
Add additional flour until a soft dough forms that is tacky, but not sticky
Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and set it aside for 10 minutes
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface
Divide the dough in half and then divide each half into 8 equal portions (16 total portions)
Roll each portion out into a tube about 8 inches long
Transfer all of the portions onto a parchment lined baking sheet and brush with melted butter
Cover lightly with greased plastic wrap and rest in a warm place for 30 minutes
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
Bake on a middle rack at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes or until the breadsticks are golden brown
Transfer the baking sheet onto a cooling rack
Brush the hot breadsticks with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt, grated parmesan and dried parsley
Serve warm
