Maple Orange Glazed Pork Skewers

Tender pork skewers with sweet peppers and onions brushed in a sweet, sticky maple orange glaze. Perfect over a campfire, your grill or right in your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of pork tenderlion or pork shoulder, cubed
  • 3 large sweet bell pepper
  • 1 large yellow onion

Dry Rub Mixture

  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

Maple Orange Glaze

  • 1/3 cup of fresh orange juice
  • 1/3 cup of pure maple syrup

Instructions

  • Combine the dry rub ingredients and set aside for now
  • Whisk 1/3 cup of fresh orange juice into 1/3 cup of pure maple syrup and set aside for now
  • Cut your pork, peppers and onions into 1 inch chunks
  • Thread the pork, peppers and onions onto skewers alternating as you go
  • Generously season the skewers on all sides with the dry rub mixture
  • Grill or sear the skewers over a fire grate, grill or cast iron skillet or griddle over medium to medium high heat until all sides are golden brown and the pork is cooked to your liking
  • Reduce the heat and begin brushing the skewers with the maple orange glaze turning as you go until all sides are generously glazed and the glaze begins to caramelize
