Mocha Mousse

A rich, decadent chocolate coffee mousse that comes together in minutes and requires no pre-planning.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup of heavy cream, cold
  • 1/3 cup of confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of espresso powder
  • 4 ounces of cream cheese
  • 4 ounces of chocolate
  • chocolate, finely chopped (optional garnish)

Instructions

  • Place 4 ounces of cream cheese and 4 ounces of chocolate in a heat proof bowl and melt in 15 second increments in the microwave or over a pot of simmering water to form a double boiler
  • As soon as the cream cheese and chocolate has melted enough to stir, remove it from the heat and mix until smooth and set aside to cool
  • Whip 3/4 cup of cold heavy cream with 1/3 cup of confectioners sugar and a teaspoon of espresso powder until stiff peaks form
  • Gently combine the whipped cream and melted cream cheese and chocolate and transfer the mixture into 2 medium sized dishes or 4 smaller dishes
  • Enjoy immediately or chill until ready to serve
  • Garnish with finely chopped chocolate (optional)
