It is amazing what a buttery breadcrumb can add to your average mac and cheese or caesar salad and with just a little butter, some garlic, your favorite herbs (dried or fresh) and of course come breadcrumbs, you can whip them up in like 5 minutes.
Let’s get started…
Gather 4 tablespoons of butter (I use salted, but unsalted works great too), 2 finely minced garlic cloves, about 1/4 cup of fresh or dried herbs and 2 cups of breadcrumbs.
You can use panko, traditional or even fresh made breadcrumbs, whatever you have on hand.
Start by melting 4 tablespoons of butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Cook 2 cloves of finely minced garlic for about 60 seconds, while stirring continuously.
Now stir in your herbs and breadcrumbs and let them cook just long enough to develop a little color and crunch.
You are officially ready to sprinkle these beauties over some pasta you plan to bake or over a big salad right after you toss in the dressing.
The next time you are looking for a way to notch up your weeknight dinners, make yourself a big batch of these garlic herb breadcrumbs. You’ll be glad you did…
