Bacon, turkey and ranch are a classic trio. I remember stopping at a local sub shop as a teenager and I would say that 98% of time, I ordered a bacon turkey ranch toasted sub. The elements all compliment each other deliciously. Salty, crisp, hearty, herby, saucy… its everything you need out of a sandwich and we are adding all of this into shareable little sliders just perfect for game day or game night…

Sliders are a great appetizer option. They come together quickly, all bake together, but are individual so everyone gets their own. You can mix up the elements to make them exactly how you want, but the combination of crispy bacon, roasted turkey, melted cheddar and a ranchy lettuce mix creates the perfect slider in my opinion and I bet once you make them, they will be yours too…
Let’s get started…

Begin by crisping about 8 slices of thick cut bacon. My favorite way to do this is by baking the bacon on a cookie sheet in a 400 degree oven for about 12 minutes. They stay flat and get really crispy this way, plus not hot grease on your backsplash. Its a win-win.
While he bacon is crisping up, gather 12 ounces of thick sliced turkey, 8 ounces of sharp cheddar cheese slices and split 8 mini slider buns.
In a large bowl, combine 1/4 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of sour cream or greek yogurt, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of dried dill, 1/2 teaspoon of dried parsley, 1/2 teaspoon of dried chives, a few cracks of black pepper and a tablespoon of white vinegar in a large bowl. Add 2 cups of shredded iceberg and 1/4 cup of very finely sliced red onion and toss until everything is combined.

The best way to assemble your sliders is in a cast iron skillet or your favorite oven safe skillet. Start by adding your bottom buns in a single layer, top with a slice of sharp cheddar, some turkey, bacon and another slice of cheese.

Add your top buns and brush them with some. melted butter, garlic and parsley. Lightly cover everything with foil and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is all melty and the buns are golden brown.

Add a thick layer of your ranch lettuce mixture and a big pile of kettle chips right before serving.

These sliders are addictively delicious and once you start serving them at your get togethers, people will start requesting them, but thats not a bad thing because they are really easy to make!
What more could you ask for out of a slider, right? Easy, delicious and everyone will love them. Sounds like the perfect appetizer to me…
