Pumpkin Patch Cake

How adorable is this cake? A delicious cake topped with the cutest little pumpkins, a crushed cookie dirt trail and some fresh herb “vines”. This cake is actually pretty easy to bring together and it will easily be the cutest piece in your holiday dessert spread.

Let me show you how to make it…

Let’s start by making the almond flour pumpkins.

Simply combine a cup of super fine almond flour with 1/2 cup of natural peanut butter, 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin spice and 2-3 tablespoons of maple syrup. I like to start with 2 tablespoons and add the 3rd if the mixture feels too dry to hold together.

Form little balls of dough and use a toothpick or baking twine to form the pumpkin ribs.

Dust in sugar (optional) and top with chocolate chip stems.

Done.

Bake your favorite cake in a large baking dish like this beautiful 12″ cast iron skillet and let the cake cool completely before assembling.

Now comes the fun part… create your pumpkin patch!

I covered my entire cake with crushed chocolate cookies for the “dirt”, arranged the pumpkins on either side of a little trail and added fresh oregano leaves for the vines.

I… am… obsessed…

That little trail down the center is something I would love to take a stroll down and I would put everyone of these little pumpkins in my basket.

Whether you need a beautiful holiday dessert to bring to a party or are hosting the occasion and want to wow your guests, this pumpkin patch cake will make your sweet treat spread just perfect.

Happy holiday baking my friends!
