Chantilly cream is a sweeter version of whipped cream that is finished at the soft peak stage making it a little more creamy that the classic fully whipped cream. It goes perfect with so many desserts and is something that everyone should be comfortable whipping up.
It is really simple, taking only 3 ingredients and only about 5 minutes to bring together.
Let’s get it started…
Gather 1 cup of cold heavy whipping cream, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and 1/8 cup of confectioners sugar. Combine the heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract in your stand mixer or a mixing bowl, if you are using an electric hand mixer.
Begin whipping on medium high speed and once the cream starts to thicken, add the confectioners sugar while you continue to whip on medium high.
Once the cream is at the soft peak stage, stop whipping. If you aren’t familiar with the different “peak” stages, you are at the “soft peak” stage when you lift the whisk out of the cream and the peak that forms folds over slowly. A “stiff peak” is when that peak stands up and holds its shape.
Soft, sweet and cool… the perfect partner for everything from this spiced pear tart to custard cake, cup cakes, pancakes… any cake!
Whip up some vanilla chantilly cream and put it on something tonight!
