Whipped Maple Butter

At breakfast, my dad would always begin by drizzling a little honey over some butter and then he would swirl it all together with his butter knife before he would schmear it all over his toast or biscuit. Not only does that memory make me feel all warm and fuzzy about my adorable father, but it also started me on a lifetime of creaming honey and butter together when I’m feeling fancy.

This week, I made a batch of pumpkin biscuits (they are incredible by the way) and I wanted something special to go with them. Although honey and pumpkin is a very acceptable combination, I think maple and pumpkin is sheer perfection.

Turns out that it definitely is and whether you are making my pumpkin biscuits or have baked something else that could use a schmear of something special,  I am happy to introduce you to this whipped maple butter.

Let’s get started…

This recipe is ready in about 2 minutes. The only thing you need to have ready is 2 sticks of salted butter at room temperature.

Put the softened butter into a bowl and use an electric hand mixer to whip the butter until fluffy. You can also make this in a stand mixer!

Now, add 1/2 cup of confectioners sugar, 1/4 cup of pure maple syrup and a teaspoon of pumpkin spice, apple pie spice or chai spice and whip until everything is fluffy and fully combined.

Done.

If you are worried about the confectioners sugar, don’t be. This whipped butter is just mildly sweet, but definitely nothing like a frosting. The maple flavors are right in the front and the spices add a warmth that you will absolutely love.

If you are looking for a great whipped butter to serve with biscuits, fresh baked bread, pancakes or banana nut muffins then you should definitely give this whipped maple butter a try.
